Henna Body Art
Henna is a brown stain on the skin lasting 1-3 weeks. Henna fades as the skin exfoliates. Henna paste is applied and stays wet for about 30 minutes. After about 5 hours, the paste is scraped off and a stain is left behind. After the paste is removed, the design cannot be gotten wet for 12-24 hours. Henna starts off orange and darkens to brown over the next 48 hours. Henna is darkest on the hands and feet and lightest on the torso. Henna is generally not applied to children under 6 years old.
